A travel stroller that can be comfortable enough for our 6mo on rough pavement/cobblestones while also fitting our very tall 3.5yo

We are traveling to southern France with two kids and need a travel stroller that can be comfortable enough for our 6 months old on rough pavement/cobblestones while also fitting our very tall 3.5 years old (100 cm, 17 kg) when he needs a break from walking. (We’ll use a carrier for the baby then.) We have an UppaBaby Vista at home but think that will take up most of our rental car trunk space and doesn’t make sense to bring. I’ve seen lots of good reviews about the Joolz Aer, Bugaboo Butterfly, and Minu v2, but I’ve heard various things about how they handle on rough roads and how comfortable they are for tall kids.

Do you have any advice between those three, or another suggestion about what we should do? Are we looking for a unicorn? Thanks!

Hey, Inky,

Unfortunately, you are, I believe. On rough roads, none of these will be ok; the small wheels and travel-made ultra-small chassis just won't work well. For that, you simply need something bigger. The same goes for your very tall 3.5yo - the strollers are all narrow, and although from these, I would go for the Aer or the Butterfly because of the taller backrests, I cannot guarantee it will be ok. The Aer or Butterfly (or the Minu, for that matter), on the other hand, won't be super suitable for a 6mo baby, which should have the option to lie flat at that age.

I would probably go for something larger (like the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2) if you want to accommodate a larger kid and be at least fairly ok on rougher terrains. I know it's not cabin-sized, but comfort-wise, it is not even comparable.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
