A travel stroller around £200 that has a high weight apacity, suspension and a 1-hand recline

April • 14 Aug 2022

Hi, I’m looking for a travel stroller to take a road (budget £200) that meets the following criteria:

- 22kg weight limit
- compact fold & doesn’t take up too much room once folded, ideally not to heavy to carry
- 1 handlebar for pushing
- 1 hand recline (preferably not the strings you pull)
- Swivel wheels
- Suspention (if you think this is a must)
- Large sun hood
- Black or Grey colour

I liked the idea of being able to parent & world face but I appreciate there’s not many models like this so it’s not essential.

What would be the best stroller you’d recommend? Thank you.

An important fact to point out - no cheap-ish ultra-compact will comfortably hold a 22 kg child. It will be flimsy, not comfortable to push, and the child inside will be crazy tight fitting. Most also won't have a large canopy - probably the one one with a large sunhood is the Maclaren Atom (read the whole in-depth Maclaren Atom stroller review here). Just a heads up.

If I would take your non-strap requirement into account, and the weight limit on paper, plus an OK price, the Chicco Goody is probably one of the better candidates (read the whole in-depth Chicco Goody stroller review here). The Kinderkraft Nubi might work, budget-wise, and if you can get your hands on one, the Koelstra Buggy Gen as well. I would also check Cybex models - the Cybex Beezy or the Cybex Eezy S+2.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
