A reversible, comfortable ultra-compact pushchair

ava • 14 Jun 2022

Hi,

Could you recommend a stroller for travel that is sort of compact for car and plane (one piece) but also parent facing and comfortable for the child?

Thanks!

Hi, Ava,

the parent-facing option is a problem with ultracompacts, and so is the comfort - as as you make the stroller much, much smaller to fit the plane carry-on requirements, you make everything smaller, simpler, less comfortable and more compact. There are precious few reversible ultra-compact strollers in the world, but they will always have their downsides, you have to count on that.

The worse by far is the Bugaboo Ant which is, especially for the price, way too wobbly and small in the seat. SO that I would not pick. Two other reversible models that should be accepted on board (you always have to check with the airline, however), would be the Cybex Eezy S-Twist2 and the new Recaro Lexa Elite, where I would definitely go for the newer Lexa Elite if you can get your hands on that.

Your other option is simply to get a larger model, something in the likes of the Cybex Mios, and not have it as a carry on but just give it to the stewards when boarding (as free baby luggage).

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
