A quick-folding budget pushchair for the school run

Libby • 06 Jan 2023

Hi, I'm trying to find a pushchair that: folds up out of the way, is fine for the school run on paths, can handle some cobbles (York) and getting around the city. I'm also on a budget or second hand as I have an Out and About Nipper already for more daily use and walking.

My daughter is tall and chunky and loves a nap in her pram too. Thank you

Hi, Libby,

I personally would go for a more expensive second-hand option for this, as any cheap small buggy will be rattly and also small in the seat. Also, never expect a compact pushchair to be spacious for a tall child, it will always be cramped a bit.

I personally would check if a Joolz Aer is available secondhand. Also, a buggy, like some Maclaren, can be bought pre-owned quite a lot, and although long after folding, it is a reliable workhorse to be honest. Lastly, I will mention a light Valco Snap4 if you can get your hands on one, it is not as small but it is light and nimble for such use. OR a TFK Dot 2.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
