A lightweight stroller from birth with a bassinet possibility. Joolz Aer..?

João • 15 Feb 2023

Hi, my name is João, and me and my girlfriend Beatriz are having a baby in July. We are starting our search on strollers, came across your website, and decided to try. Thanks in advance.

So, we are looking for a stroller for a newborn. We haven't really set a very strict budget, but we would like to stay around 400-600 euros for the stroller alone (we are aware that it will be extra for duos or trios). One of the most important features is that it is lightweight, because we live on the 2nd floor with no elevator! We say the Joolz Aer that ticks this box, and we liked the handling on the stroller (to be honest, it was the only one we tried so far). But this goes to say that heavy strollers are definitely a no go for us. Other than that, we live in the city center, but sidewalks are not great and can get a little bumpy for strollers. We also value that it is easy to fold and unfold. A plus would be that it can be used with a carrycot.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you!

Heya, João,

Congrats on your baby! As a first-time parent, or at least that is the vibe I'm getting, I would DEFINITELY recommend something that is more suitable for everyday use, as the Joolz Aer is mainly an occasional-use travel stroller. You will, I promise you, also want, need, and make use of a reversible seat, so would recommend that to you if this is indeed your first child. The bonding and the sense of seeing your child after the first months in the carrycot are just priceless.

This is why I would recommend the Cybex Mios. A light enough stroller with good enough frame that will last, and pretty, too. It can also be used with a bassinet, car seat... a full travel system.

From the non-reversible ones, if you'd be ok with that despite my thinking you might just not, I would suggest the Oyster Zero, but not sure if that is available around you. It is light and with a huge canopy, which is super useful, while also can accept a carrycot and a car seat.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
