I am looking for a lightweight pushchair that is parent facing that would be easy to steer, does such a thing exist?!

There are such, definitely. My personal suggestion here would certainly be the Cybex Mios as that is one light (8 kg), reversible, reasonably spacious while really nice to push pushchair. I was very happy with the steering especially- for such a small urban stroller, it tackled even grass. So that would be my go-to, even if pre-owned, as it is a rather good quality model.
