A cheap and cheerful compact stroller that would work with the Cybex Cloud Z car seat?

Hi there,

First of all, thank you so much for this website, it’s a godsend!

I’m currently pregnant with my second, and my first will have just turned 2 when I give birth.

I currently have two prams that I use very often (the Cybex Balios S Lux as I live in the countryside and go for my daily walk on sometimes rough terrain) and the Yo-Yo Babyzen that is almost always stored in the car and comes in super handy for shopping, travelling, anytime we know we’re going to do a lot of walking and my 1 1/2 year old son will need a rest at some point).

I love both of them but as we’re going to have an extra family member, I don’t think either of them will be convenient.

I’m thinking of replacing our Balios with the Quinny Hubb. I’ve found it for a really good price and think it would be ideal for my daily walks in the countryside with both children or just newborn if my son is not with me.

But, I know this will not be practical for dashing to the doctors appointments, in and out of shops etc.

Would you be able to recommend and cheap and cheerful compact stroller that I could leave in the car and that could ideally work with the Cybex Cloud Z car seat? I’m thinking that I don’t necessarily need something with a bassinet as baby won’t be in it for long and the Cloud car seat can lay down if needed. I know I could buy adapters for the YoYo Babyzen but I don’t like the fact that I would have to remove them everytime I would like to fold it and, also, don’t feel it’s comfortable for my toddler anymore as it doesn’t sit up completely vertically and I feel like he’s always trying to lean forward to get comfortable.

Thanks so much for your help, there’s so much choice I feel like I’ve been looking at reviews for the past 2 years 😂.

Best,
Grace

Hey, Gracie,

I have to say it is not easy to find many compact strollers (in the Yoyo category) that fold with the car seats attached. Also, most of them will be more or less slanted, not upright (however the Yoyo is quite an extreme that way). To fit your older one, I would look at kind of roomy ones, but you want a cheap model, hmm - perhaps the Recaro Lexa could suit you but I don't believe the adaptors will work with the fold. I mean, the handle on most of these has to go over them and they're in the way.

I am also thinking about the Mountain Buggy Nano which, with a different system of only strapping the car seat in, could be a nice solution to the problem, however I have never tried it with a reclinable car seat, so perhaps it would be best to try it in a shop first.

Lastly, I would check Cybex compact strollers as they will work better with the Cloud line - the Beezy or the Cybex Eezy S+² are nice options. I am sorry, I cannot guarantee fld with the adapters here though.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
