Uppababy Minu V2

The Uppababy Minu V2 is a 2022 iteration and a second generation of the sturdy Uppababy Minu - an ultra-compact pushchair that is very lightweight while usable pretty much from birth.
The Minu V2 actually builds on the from-birth friendliness and adds a full-featured high-positioned bassinet option to the car seat/travel system compatibility, making it possible to create a 3in1 stroller system out of the Minu V2. More Uppababy Minu V2 versus Minu V1 differences include an updated, more upright seat with no-rethread harness straps, a zip-out extendable canopy without a visor for a more elegant look, adjustable calf support, a renewed opening mechanism that is simply easier, added perforated PU leather-covered bumper bar, a renewed leg/calf rest with adjustment, and overall design update with new colorways to choose from as well as renewed leatherette details on the handle and belly bar. The Minu V2 is also compatible with more accessories (they are, however, sold separately) – not only the Uppababy carrycot but also the new buggy board / Piggyback ride-along board for an older sibling.
The stroller's design remains lightweight and nimble (even if over 1 kilogram heavier than the Minu 1), with a nice enough width that fits even narrow aisles. The world-facing seat can be adjusted to an almost-lie flat that is best for children from 6 months and up (for smaller babies, definitely use the car seat or the bassinet from the from-birth system options). There's also the practical, shoe-saving brake, activated by pressing one side and deactivated by pressing the other, as well as an accessible shopping basket.

Parent reviews of the Uppababy Minu V2
- Smooth push even with a toddler
- Bumper bar with gate opening mechanism
- Wheels are okay on cobblestones though there is no suspension
- The back seat is too short
- The hood looks kind of cheaply made. Very thin material and while walking through some uneven terrain, due to jerking the hood continuously falls back
- Difficult to lift up on curbs
Pretty average. Since it is a compact stroller made for travel only, I think that we cannot expect much.
- Fabrics
- Materials and wheels
- A lot of space up to the canopy
- Sturdy frame
- Nice handle height
- Good maneuvering
- Shame they put the sunvisor away, it was a nice feature
- Short-ish seatback
- Bulkier than your usual ultracompact
Finally a Minu with a bumper bar. It is super sleek and even if not having such a tall seatback, there's a lot of space up to the canopy.
The sturdiness of the frame is already well-known, and that didn't change. I really like the rubber wheels with a bit of cushioning, and the details of the pretty fabrics, the perforated eco-leather, and the sliding harness belts are gorgeous.
I am just sorry the seat's not a lie flat, and the fold is slightly larger than the cabin luggage measurement, but as a very small buggy for the car that can last you even with everyday use, this is one of the best options, I found.
Your questions about the Uppababy Minu V2
Hi Eli, thank you for this amazing website!
For our daughter (18 months) we are looking for a buggy for short trips/holiday use, and hope to use it until she no longer needs a buggy. We love to take day-trips so it's important that she can nap comfortably. Also, we often take trips to old European cities, a rather good suspension is therefore important.
Cabin size is not a requirement, it does need to be small enough to fit in the trunk together with luggage.
We are looking at the Metro+, Minu V2, Joolz Aer and Bugaboo Butterfly. Which would you recommend?
Hey, Marijke,
If suspension is what you're prioritizing, I would go for the Joolz Aer out of these. The wheel suspension is simply the best. You need to count on all of these having small wheels so it may be that it is not enough, and on cobblestones and really rough pavements it will be a bit of a fight with these travel strollers.
I will also mention the Cybex Eezy S+² which has a bit larger wheels and so might be, in some situations, a bit more practical (and it's not a bad stroller as well).
Can this stroller comfortably hold very tall toddlers (eg. 100 cm)?
Hey, Annika,
The Minu is pretty much a travel stroller, which means "comfortably" gets a new meaning with these - it is on the narrower side – and simpler, too. That means it will never be as comfortable as a larger stroller. That being said, it is one of the comfier strollers, and there's space to the canopy, so you can fit a 100cm child in it. It won't be crazy comfort, and the head won't be fully supported I believe - fr that, you may need a taller seatback (e.g. like in the Joolz Aer). I would definitely go for something like the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 for a "comfortable" space for a tall child.
I plan to use this as my daily stroller but I'm worried that the wheels aren't up to the task. We've got a small car and small house so we're looking for small (not travel) strollers. I occasionally cross gravel, grass and cobblestones. Is this up to the occasional trip on uneven terrain or could you reccomend something more suitable?
(Note: we are also comfortable at this price)
Hi, Tally,
To be honest, this is closer to a travel stroller than a daily stroller. However, this particular model is sturdier than others, and should, more or less, withstand daily use if you're not too demanding for terrain. Pretty much any stroller can go over some cobblestones or gravel, even if being pulled on the rear wheels. So if the priority is the small size, actually this is one of the best really small ones that should handle this reasonably well. However, do not expect super terrain feel, the small wheels will be rattly a bit, and you will feel or get stuck in large putholes etc. That is the price to pay for the compact size.
Different buggies to perhaps consider, too, would be the TFK Dot 2 (if available around you) or perhaps something a tad larger, like the flat folding Baby Jogger City Mini.
Do you know the full size of the seat unit (height)? This is listed on a couple other strollers :)
Hi, Nikky,
I am not sure what you mean by the "full size (height). If you mean the seatback height, it is about 46 cm. I have not yet measured the whole seat length so I cannot tell you exactly how long the seat surface as a whole is, though it would be somewhere around 80-84 cm (take it as an educated guess).
Can I use the from birth accessory of the Minu to the Minu v2?
Hiya, Chelle,
Yes, the from-birth accessory/cot kit is usable with the Minu V2 as well.
How tall is the seat back please?
Hi, Jacque,
The seatback is about 46 cm (18 inches) tall. There is also quite some space to the top of the canopy.
